Dell Inspiron is the laptop I would go with. I have one, and it works well – of course, I’ve only had mine for a few months, but so far it runs well and looks good.
If that’s not the laptop for you, then I’d have a look at the Sony VAIO. Although some of these were recently recalled, they certainly aren’t still selling those that were recalled, and for most people, the Sonys are reliable computers.
You didn’t say what was cheap for you and what was expensive for you, but if you’re looking into high end machines, then you can get a Macbook, along with a few other kinds of computers, colored.
All in all, I would recommend the Dell; it’s easily customizable to almost any price range, and the color is lovely.
