How do I prevent MS Project task duration variable resources when I enter?
If I Add? Ge, resources to perform a task, the task of the duration assigned to the number of labor resources that I set. The duration is determined by the number of resources, which I will split assigned. If I assign two resources work, my time has been set to 2.1 of any duration. If I assign three works resources, my time is 03.01. . . etc. How can I prevent that?
By default MS Project operates using something called effort driven scheduling which results in the behavior you see.
This can be turned off, on a task-by-task basis, by double-clicking on a task to bring up the task information dialog and clearing the “effort driven” check box on the advanced tab.
(To change this setting for multiple tasks, select the tasks, and use the task information dialog icon on the toolbar, and clear the check box as described above).
To set Project so that new tasks are NOT effort drive (this only works for new tasks added after you change this setting), go to Tools->Options->Schedule and clear the check box that says “New tasks are effort driven.”
