FileZilla FTP Server Tutorial Part 1
ftp server
This is a tutorial on how to set up FileZilla FTP server. It shows you how to port forward and what ports to forward, how to set up encryption (SSL/TSL), and how to set up anonymous access. Sorry for any mistakes I made; I had to narrate it while looking at an extremely down-sized version of it so it was kind of hard, and I didn’t have the patience to start over and use some other program to narrate it with. I’ll respond as fast as I can.

@WhefXLR good news. I honestly don’t know what the problem was. I cleared out both TCP&UDP port 21 signed to Filezilla when I added the program manually option “Allow a program or features through Windows Firewall”, Instead this time, I picked “Advanced Settings” > “Inbounce Rules” > New Rules Manual insert TCP/UDP port 21 samway as I have added port 3850, this time it does. I will have to checkout TeamViewer, I have used Mikogo i think it is very similar. Have you used Windows FTP IIS 7/7.5

@WhefXLR I mean it does it. it’s working now with windows firewall on. So thanks again for your time and having the heart to help me out. Fillzilla is just what i needed. Since Microsoft shipped their version of FTP Server, I’ll be looking up on howto vid or article and try to set it up to test it out.

Hello WhefXLR, your tutorial is very good. Congratulations on that. But I’m having a problem, I can not access to the server from other computers. Can you help me solve this? If you are able to help me through team viewer I´ll be grateful. I think one problem is that the server ip isn´t static. I’ll have computers that will be on the same network segment as the server and others that not. I tried using the external ip that obtained by ipchicken but neither worked. Thanks, i hope you can help me.

@catiasgs1 Hi, thanks for your response. I would love to help you, however, it’s 5AM right now where I live so unfortunately I’m going to go to bed. However, if you want to work on something for the 10 or so hours that I’m sleeping I believe the problem is incorrect port forwarding. Please watch my port forwarding tutorial at /watch?v=hdwcO4jBkVE , follow it exactly and see if you still have the problem. Good luck!

@vesicalmiro I’d like you to look at my other Port Forwarding video and follow those instructions EXACTLY without flaw, and if it still doesn’t work then tell me and give me details, such as what the FileZilla log says when you connect from your server and if it reports anything when you try to log on off server.

@ionText1 So, what we have here is that your FTP server works when Windows firewall is off, but not when it’s on, and additionally you’re forwarding the ports correctly. This is very confusing. I’m going to go eat dinner, but I’ll be thinking about this.
