I have a laptop that I want to get DSL for. I do not have a desktop. Do I have to plug the DSL cable into the laptop or can it just be plugged into the DSL modem so I can carry my laptop wherever I want to?

you have to have dsl and you can connect it to your laptop or you can get a wireless router and connect the router to your dsl so you have a wireless connection
To use your laptop the way you want to (wireless), you must get a wireless laptop and wireless router. The DSL modem plugs into the wireless router. Bingo. If you want to use the laptop away from home you will need to get a wireless card from a wireless telephone co. or maybe the phone company that supplies your DSL can supply one. Hope this helps.
