Battelle and the Department of Energy National Energy Technology Laboratory have signed an agreement to finance U.S. dollars Pacific Northwest Smart Demonstration project of the grid. The funds are to one million by the Bonneville Power Administration, 11 utilities and five technology companies, including QualityLogic (www.qualitylogic.com) and Drummond Group (www.drummondgroup.com) from which the project has made available his demonstration.

The project expanded to improve the existing electrical infrastructure and testing new combinations of equipment, software and advanced analytical tools of power Grida? Performance and reliability. QualityLogic and the Drummond Group will be responsible for the establishment of interoperability and certification for the project? Transactive S control. This technology enables collaboration based control transactions occur on complex networks, in which intelligent devices negotiate with each other, their users and energy suppliers to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

â? The Next Generation Intelligent Network, we will have a set of standards and equipment, the complex issues of interoperability, â? James Mater, QualityLogic co-founder and Smart Grid Interoperability Evangelist. â? ATI now? is our duty to see that the elements of the project work together to attain greater efficiency in the provision and use of> energy.â ????

â? With the rapid development of smart grid interoperability standards, rigorous testing and certification are important components â? said Rik Drummond, CEO Drummond Group Inc. and current Chairman of the Committee of the examination and certification of Smart Grid Interoperability Group Board of Directors. â? Lessons learned from the northwest of smart grid demonstration project will be an important element for the> ????

The project

8 million is a demonstration of 16 regional awards smart grid demonstration by the DOE announced last fall and is part of American law Recovery of reinvestment.

Smart Grid improves power delivery and use by intelligent bi-directional communication. The technology includes everything from interactive devices in the home for substation automation and sensors on the transmission lines. Power producers, suppliers and consumers are all part of the equation. Intelligent monitoring network activity in real-time information on supply and demand, the exchange and adaptation of energy consumption on current data.
