Is electric cable next to cable and telephone ok?
Question : Is electric cable next to cable and telephone ok?
I am remodeling a kitchen and have found that I have a pinch point where two electrical cables run next to (about an inch away) a telephone cable and cable tv line. Will the electrical cables interfere with either of these?

should not be a problem!
The TV cable is shielded cable with an internal braid jacket.
The phone cable is shielded by twisting the pairs together.

For purity sake, I’d avoid tight proximity just on general principle. Cross-talk between cables is always a possibility. In reality, though, there is very little problem with it. The only signal in your electric power is 60 Hz. For you telephone cable, the worst case possibility, if any, might be a very faint low hum, but in my own home I have an extension cord running along the baseboard next to a phone line with no issue at all. For an electric wire next to your TV cable line, even if the cable did pick up cross-talk, it would be discarded along with the RF carrier from demodulation to baseline video in your TV. And with shielded coaxial cable, it’s unlikely to even happen in the first place.
There is not enough power in a telephone line to radiate cross-talk into either your power line nor your cable. And lastly, with coaxial shielding, your TV cable will not radiate into the other lines.
Like I said, for purity sake, I’d keep them a few inches apart, but in reality, it’s highly unlikely to encounter any problems by the lines lying next to each other.

At normal environment it is not a big problem, but it can create problem at lightning time (rainy season thunder). The telephone line and cable line may not be properly protected from lightning and both are spreaded over your place. So any where in your place, if lightning affected in your cable network line, The voltage spike can come to your home. If your cable line and power line is very close then the high voltage spike can jump to your power line and telephone line. It can damage almost all instruments connected in power line. This can happen vice versa. So better to keep maximum distance between these three line so that one line cannot affect another.
