Siemon High-Speed Interconnect Assemblies Pass Key Alliance Ethernet 40 Gb / s and 100 Gb / s Test Interoperability
Watertown, CT (Vocus) 5 October 2010
Siemon, a leading global manufacturer of network cabling and infrastructure systems, today announced that its high speed interconnect products have passed key tests 40 and 100 Gigabit Ethernet Ethernet Alliance? s recent high-speed Ethernet (HSE) Subcommittee Plugfest for interoperability with IEEE Std-2010 802.3baTM 40 and 100 Gbit / s Ethernet.
Hosted by Ixia with its iSimCity lab in Santa Clara, CA, and supported by the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Lab, the plug-fest designed to ensure interoperability of 40 Gb / s and 100 Gb / s devices test test systems, network cards, transceivers and cabling. Testing included Siemon? S Moray QSFP optical active and passive cable assemblies QSFP copper, fiber MTP multimode OM3 OM4 assembled and equipped optical modules and single mode fibers with SC connectors. All sessions Siemon cable high-speed past their 40 Gb / s and 100 Gb / s interoperability testing.
â? The Plugfest was to demonstrate that the higher speed Ethernet ecosystem is ready, a instrumental? Said David Schneider, President of the Court’s marketing? s Higher Speed Ethernet subcommittee. â? Siemon? the complete range of cables fully interoperable with systems and transceivers for the> plugfest.â ????
â? With the recent activities in the IEEE 802.3ab, this Plugfest EA absolutely critical in signaling the viability of the high-speed Ethernet infrastructure market to the general network, â? Randy explains, Vice President of Business Development at Siemon? s Interconnect Solutions Business Unit. â? It also helped to highlight the extent of the area of the Siemon Cabling. We have end to end and twisted pair fiber optic systems at speeds of support to implementation and beyond 10 Gb / s, including the Class 6A UTP and shielded and fully shielded TERA Category 7A and singlemode XGLO and multimode fiber. We can now fully interoperable add 40Gb / s and 100 Gb / s passive Copper Twinax, combining active and passive optical optical one> list.â ???? ?
