This fall, Harvard University, launched in cooperation with the Foundation AlÃcia, a nonprofit founded by the chef Ferran Adrià, a well-received Science & Cuisine series of conferences and courses. Resident at the Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), wants to study the course on the phenomena of chemistry to materials science in applied physics by examining the cooking process. To support the universityâ? S efforts, Cole-Parmer donated laboratory equipment, including thermometers, cooling and heating baths, balances, and waterproof handheld pH meter.

These culinary artists conference alongside David Weitz, Mallinckrodt Professor of Physics and Applied Physics in the seas and the Faculty of Physics and Michael Brenner, Glover Professor of Applied Mathematics and Applied Physics SEAS.

The course includes a laboratory component that students use to concepts from the kitchen, can motivate experimental measurements on soft materials. Chef Adrià is considered a pioneer in the application of scientific principles (such as the manipulation of physical and chemical processes of cooking) to achieve culinary innovations.
