What’s a good but cheap software for computer protection against bugs, viruses, and other yucky stuff?
Question : What’s a good but cheap software for computer protection against bugs, viruses, and other yucky stuff?
I’m a writer and my computer is my job, work, life. I want good protection against viruses, Trojans, and all sorts of bugs. Somebody told me about some nice software she got from Best Buy that is great at taking care of that stuff. I forgot the name and who told me about it. Any ideas?
Oh… I have a Dell computer running Windows XP, purchased in 2004.

Free is always better. AVG is free antivirus, CCleaner takes care of the trash, and Malwarebytes takes care of malware, Also, you can check out Adaware Free.

As i have said in my earlier posts too there is no other spyware program which even comes close to Malwarebytes.
Combofix is another software which removes even the rootkits which are even worst then trojans and other viruses,success rate of this software is about 97% and only disadvantage is that in some rare scenarios it can take your computer to no boot situation,however it’s very rare
If you want to play safe run malwarebytes scan and there is nothing better then that……!

I use Avast , I have also got superantispyware and Malwarebytes. I recently changed to Comodo firewall which seems fine and I seem to boot up quicker. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. I also use Windows Defender from the Microsoft site. It is safe to use two anti-spy products but never use more than one A/V as it can cause conflicts. You should run A/V and anti spy weekly. Three sites you can use safely.
