Question : Will VMware ESXi 4.0 support MS Windows Server 2008 64 bit Guest OS?
I am looking for a free hypervisor for running 64 bit Windows Server 2008. Can I use VMWare ESXi 4.0?
Is there any other freeware available?

You should be OK as long as you don’t run R2. R2 support is still Experimental. My R2 install stalled at 26% of Expanding Files. However, previous versions work OK.

Make sure you have a CPU that supports the VT technology and that it is enabled in the BIOS of your host.
