Question : Is there a good Black ink-jet printer that takes cheap ink?
I print Labels and they tend to gum up laser printers, even though they are supposed to work on laser printers. I only need black. Is there black only Inkjet that takes inexpensive ink? The printer can be a little more expensive, $ 300 or $ 400 would be fine. Just want a good total cost with high volume.

Don’t forget to take the warranty into account along with cost of ink. The winner in both categories is Epson. I have been getting free ink for my epsons for almost a year now at http://www.ccs-digital.com/freeink.asp

I dont think there are any all-black inkjets left. If you only print in black, a small amount of color will be used but it will be like a set of color cartridges for every 4 or 5 black ones.

The best deal in a photo printer is the Epson Artisan 800 refurb direct from epson.com for $ 98 under clearance. It’s a wireless copier/scanner/fax/photo/CD printer with 6 individual ink cartridges for high photo quality. The best warranty in the industry. For two years, Epson will fedex a replacement and pick up the old one should you need it.

But you can probably get along fine with an even cheaper printer like the NX415 which can be found at about $ 50. It only has a one year warranty.
