I want a good gaming laptop that can run games such as civ 5 and starcraft 2, and is under $ 1000. Anyone know of any?

Gaming laptops are expensive. For the money it would cost to buy a mediocre gaming laptop, you could build a vastly more powerful desktop.

You technically can make your own- the only problem is if you don’t know how to wire the computer, you’re screwed.
It really depends on what type. If you like AMD, you could get a hexacore for $ 200, but if you want intel, you’re gonna have to shell out $ 1000. I don’t see anything wrong with AMD, though.
However, building you’re own is more cheap. the only problem is the OS system. Full versions cost $ 200-no way to avoid that.
