you will want to lease a nice copier from xerox, no home printer will print on card stock..really you will want a small press, to have raised ink, you might want to invest in a small paper cutter also to cut the cards out! I use to work in the printing industry for 8 years, I miss it sometimes….
Sorry, but you can use just about anything. Xerox is ok, but i dont care for it too much. I was a senior Tech specialist for Ricoh/Lanier/Gestetner/Savin for years. Most printers and copiers are the same…different label is all.
You will want laser for sure, not inkjet. I would suggest buying a mulit-function device but be careful. Brother is crap, Xerox is ok, not great! Cannon is up there! Our biggest competition was Cannon. And Ricoh is one of the largest copier companies in the World. #2 i think. Dunno, dont work there anymore. Great machines, terrible management.
You will get what you pay for in this area. No real cheap way around it. If you want to get some companies to fight for you, that is how you get the best deal. To have a few sales people fight for your business and make a deal to include toner and service in the contract. those 2 can be very expensive without. My time was $ 175.00/hour!!!
For starts with busniness cards i would have someone professonal do it first. Then try and copy their hard work and design!
Good luck on your new business Venture.
