I have a wonderful product, a visual theraputic aid for developmentally disabled and autistic people. I will be selling it on the internet through email. This product will help many people in this population. What do I need to know about Spam?

The best way to avoid it is either by not doing the thing that will give you spam
OR
Create an alternative email for your plan that way your job and your life don’t get mixed. Also you would be able to track and probably block any spam.

If you want to post an email address on your website, you could post a picture of the address instead of text. That should prevent spambots from harvesting it.
Spammers sometimes harvest whois data. You could get privacy protection of your registration. However, privacy protection of a business website is so frequently associated with dishonesty, that it might be regarded with distrust by prospective customers. Of course the majority of prospective customers may not check whois data anyhow. You might want to have a disposable email address just for domain registry. -

I think your concern is more on avoid your email campaign getting into prospect’s spam folder right?
Well, here’re my suggestions:
- First of all, ask your visitors/subscribers for permission to send them any promotional/newsletter. This is done by using confirmed/double opt-in from most of the mailing script out there.
- Build a good relationship with your subscriber, so they will remember who the mail is come from and won’t mark your email as spam.
- Ask them to white-list your email where you send your email from.
- After doing all that, it’s good to check your newsletter/email against spam filter. it can be done using any spam checker to check for any possible spam keywords which would trigger to spam filter to block your email.Good luck in your email campaign. =)

That you need to get a really GOOD web host, Denise, if you are going to deal with a great deal of flyer’s, messages, and catalogs, things of that sort. No matter what E-mail services you have they ALL have limitations as far as your E-mailing goes, so that they can keep spammers out of their accounts. Yes, even the premium services. The web hosts are the ones whose services are used by the companies that send newsletters, and they charge depending on your numbers, I believe.
Go to the search engine of your choice, type in ‘web hosts,’ do your search and see what comes up for you.
