Question : How can I set up file and printer sharing with Vista on the desktop and on my laptop?
I used to have them both configured to XP and they worked. I am trying to get the computers comunicating. My laptop is wireless and my desktop is hard wired. I need to be able to share the file and printer sharing. Could you please tell me how to do this? Thanks so much for any information you can give me.
I have Vista Ultimate on both computers. My laptop and desktop.

Did you convert both machines to Vista?
If you only converted one, you have to patch the XP machine.
If you converted both – I’m sorry
MS has crippled networking features in the Home versions of Vista for “security” reasons.
You will need to go to the MS knowledge base and dig out the patches and workarounds for your version of Vista

Of course, you could always UPGRADE back to XP
