Question : What printer/plotter should I buy? I need one that I can print graphics & vinyl signs as well as AutoCad dwgs?
I have looked at the new Mutoh printers but can not get anyone to tell me if they will accept Hp-GL/2 language which is what AutoCad uses. Then, I have looked at the HP 1050C and now see that the HP 800PS might be a better plotter for doing vinyl signs and banners. Plus the 1050C is only a 36″ wide plotter where as the HP 800PS is 42″ wide. I have used the HP 1050C and the HP800PS but only for AutoCad applications. How are they with printing graphics and printing on vinyl? Do either of the HP Plotters have the Eco-Solvent Inks available?

For you needst you should look at one of these from HP. Canon also makes professional plotters also. They are used in a media department for what you’re trying to do. I would go with the Canon Plotters or look at the top end plotter from HP.

Here are the links for HP for Autocad which we use Plans

Media Department uses: Canon imagePROGRAF W8200
