Just pug it into a USB port and it should come up as another drive (probably drive E)

Is this a USB thumb drive? If it is, its no different then plugging in a mouse or other USB device. It will take a second to enumerate the hardware, but it will show up with the C: drive and other drives under My Computer. If this is a 2GB memory module, then you will need to remove the screw on the bottom of the labtop that most likely contains the memory and wireless modules and install it into any available DIMM slots. You should have two. If there is only one on the bottom, the other is located under the keyboard and is a bit harder to remove.

am i right in understanding this is RAM you want to install to your laptop? if yes, read as follows.
mouting is simply to reduce the electrical energy in your body before you open up your laptop. i mount by touch a screw on one of the electric sockets in my house for about a minute.
i presume your ram is compatible with your toshiba laptop computer. i am also presuming you understand how to access the empty slots. if you don’t, refer to your laptop manual or search on the internet.
