Not entirely sure what the question is. This sounds like it might be a reference to pre-clinical or clinical trials around a drug being developed or marketed. In that case you may be talking about the total amount of drug that a particular patient has taken. Often with drugs, the patient needs to keep taking doses of the drug over time, because our bodies break down the drugs over time. The amount a drug a patient needs to take, and the frequency with which he takes it has to do with a number of different factors, including how big the individual is, how quickly his body breaks down the drug, and how potent the drug is against its target in the body. My guess is that “total drug load” is trying to quantify the total amount of drug that the patient has taken during the course of a treatment.
