Question : How to get 5-port netgear gigabit ethernet switch working?
ok to make this simple i wanted to make 2 ports instead of having regular modem with 1 port i got the netgear switch with 5. Well i want to use my xbox, and pc at the same time but when i do only 1 works. I used all cables 1 connected for the pc, 1 for xbox, and 1 for the modem. 3 ethernet cables all conneted to the switch.

You will need a router in the equation.
Sounds like your ISP will only issue a valid address on one machine at a time.
To get gigabit capability locally on your network, you can plug your switch into the router.
