laser printer toner cartridge refill questions?
Question : laser printer toner cartridge refill questions?
I would like to buy a laser printer but not sure which one I should go with. My main concern is the price of the toner cartridge. The new printer comes with a trial cartridge and does not last long. A new toner cost almost as much as a printer itself. Also, I have three refill bottles that I bought earlier for my old HP LaserJet 2100 printer. My first question is if there is a way I can make use of those. The second issue is related to something called killer chip. I found out from internet that most of the new printer comes up with a chip that counts the number of copies printed by a toner and does not let you print anymore even the printer is refilled. The only option left is then buying a new printer.
Can someone give me idea if I can find a printer which does not include such a chip.

I think you mean the service message on the HP, yes but you can reset that if you want to. but it is / was 200000 pages and that is a lot. It is not a chip it is built in the s/ware.
As for the toner cost the price of a printer, please tell me where I can get a laser printer for £60 to £100.
Your LJ2100 cost more than the cartridge
I don’t know about your refill bottles.
I would ask why the new printer if you have a 2100 as that should last a long while yet.
