Question : Need a “cheap” laser printer for preprinted forms that aligns each page the same way (low volume) Suggestions?
The forms are for a small medical practice, and the printing is done via software that I have written. The problem with the present laser printer is that it does not align each page the same way. As a result some pages have all their entries printed as much as half a line above or below where they are supposed to go on the form. This is a low volume operation. I’m looking for a laser printer that does a better job, and costs less than $ 500. I would really be grateful for suggestions on this problem.

Apparently laser printers are as harmful as secondhand smoke and may cause cancer. It was on the news today. Might not be the best thing to get for a medical office. Seeing as how they cause cancer and all…
Alignment is always an issue with laser printers.
You can arrange the form to do the entry via computer and thus just fill in the blanks on a PDF or DOC, type file and then the alignment is done for you.
If that is not a possibility…
You either need to make your fields larger, or invest in a dot matrix printer.
because of the tracking systems dot matrix printers are able to make duplicate even triplicate forms when precision lettering in each field.
Don’t buy into the whole toner is as harmful as second hand smoke nonsense. It isn’t even determined whether the actual particulate or debris is from the toner itself, and even as such, it is plastic or wax based.
