Question : AutoCAD 2005 Plotter Question?
I’m having some trouble when I try to plot big sheets (18″x24″ all the way up to 36″x48″)
When I select that sheet size, CAD scales my drawing to mm instead of inches! I can’t seem to find a way to keep the scale in imperial format! If I try printing it as is I’ll get this tiny drawing on my huge sheet of paper!
Does anyone know how to change it so that it doesn’t scale my drawings to metric and I keep my imperial settings? (nothing changes when I print on 8″x11″ or 11″x17″ size paper)

If you go to ‘page setup manager’, there is a section that is titled “plot scale” where you have the option (drop-down menu) of inches or mm….. it says __ “inches / mm” = __ drawing units
my only guess is that for some reason this is switching when you switch paper size

Argh, I don’t have CAD right in front of me, so I’m doing this from memory. You want to do one of two things (maybe both). Right click one of your menus so you get a list of all the possible menus. Click detention. Click the bottom (or right) most button, whatever that is. A new window should pop up. Click Modify. A new window pops up. Click the primary units tab. There should be a drop down menu that has architectural (i think thats what you want). Click OK and close. Go to file -> Plot. There should be a scaling- drop down menu. To see it, you might have to click that “>” button at the bottom of the plot window. good luck

Under “Format” on the menu tool bar at the top … click it to drop… then select “Units” on the list. On the box that appears notice in the middle a window where you can select inches or whatever you want.
