Question : Why will my Xbox 360 wireless headset sync only to the Xbox, not the controller?
It seems no matter what I try, my wireless headset will not sync to the controller; instead it syncs to a free port (one without a controller connected to it) on the Xbox, which of course is useless. How do I get around this problem?

I’ve had the headset for several months and have never been able to use it because of this problem.

Can’t you change the port connectivity from the headset itself? There is usually a button that you can push to cycle through controller ports. Try it out, or call 1 800 4MY XBOX.
