Question : How do you know if your cable internet modem is defective, or if your cables are bad?
My internet is down a lot. How would I know if my cable lines are bad for cable internet or if my modem is defective?

Ask your cable company to run a signals test on your modem. They can do it remotely, and tell you if all looks good. If the modem is okay, try a new cable. Does the cable sync light go out when the Internet is out?
