What virus scanner or spyware protection do u recommend?
Question : What virus scanner or spyware protection do u recommend?
I have Vista and I was wondering what would be a good virus scanner ?
or does my laptop already have a firewall?
I have Norton already but I ‘m not sure what is it?
So , if anyone could explain to me and recommend what would be good spyware protection software and virus scanner , I would appreciate it.

Norton makes multiple products. I have no idea what you have installed. I would recommend using AVG Free ( http://free.avg.com ) for anti-virus, Spybot ( http://www.spybot.com/index2.html ) for anti-spyware, and ZoneAlarm Free ( http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/zonealarm-pc-security-free-firewall.htm ) for a firewall.

I like Microsoft live one care actually they give you a 90 day free trial. Mcafee’s is alright. I hate Nortons. It takes way too long to scan plus you practically have to be a hacker to get thier software off your PC. But I hear for free ones AVG is popular. Check out cnet.com they usually have a nice list of anti virus software.

Download avast anti-virus as it comes with spyware and anti-virus. It has a strong detection rate amongst most of the popular brands of anti-virus and a strong removal rate unlike some of the others.
Avast also scans your computer for viruses if you want it to before your computer starts up so that the viruses aren’t powered by your computer so they are weakened and easily removed.
I love AVG Internet Security but I think AVG Free is terrible and I don’t recommend it. I use AVG Internet Security but you have to pay for it. I recommend it though, but of course it’s not free.

You generally have to pay for AV suites. Your Norton will likely expire in a few months.
There are free ones like Avira Personal. It is the best free app and uses little resources.

I use for years Kaspersy Antivirus and I think it’s the best. Norton Antivirus doesn’t offer the same level of protection, plus it slows down your computer.

Make sure to uninstall Norton before installing any other antivirus.
