As the late, great Mr. Asimov said, do not worry about the management of computers, but are more concerned if they do not take us and all our important files with them. Hard disk of a computer is the central repository within the system and its failure, all useful functions to a complete stop to.

If your PC has one of the following prevent doom, then you have to run (not walk) and take the CD back up all your important data to burn.

Sign 1 – You hear a harsh moan, strong loops or on the hard disk />
A hard working normally a good “spin” sound is also turning up or down. But if a player is a grinding or mouse button (read / write heads to scratch close to the magnetic disks), while the disc is ill and at risk.

Sign 2 – You see the infamous “Blue Screen of Death”, repeatedly

BSOD (Blue Screens of Death) is in fact a “Stop” error, and they only appear if your system is Windows software, serious or hardware problems. BSOD can often heal with a careful “Repair Install” of the Windows operating system or remove a bad device driver. But if these quick fixes do not seem software-stick, then the hard drive is usually on its last legs

Sign 3 – The computer keeps re-booting on its own

I confess I have only seen this problem a few times in my career of 18 + in all cases was due to hardware problems. Once it was a motherboard covered with dust, and once a processor overheating. But all other times it was because of poor readers.

Sign 4 – The system stops with frequent freezes or hang ups

They work long hours, and then suddenly stops. The program crashes on you. Your mouse and keyboard seems to stop responding. The only solution is to reboot.

Sign 5 – Error message: Disk is not formatted

This funny message you get when you start your computer. You can reboot and boot into Windows to do a few times, but this error is “fur sure” sign that you drive is very close to death. And try not to format the disk by the way! You lose all your data.

Sign 6 – error message: boot drive or device not found or the player can not be accessed

This is another of my favorites. You can use the CD / DVD or floppy drive to make sure no stray disks are trapped inside trays. You can also use the BIOS to ensure that the system will boot from the hard disk. If all these tests are good, then the player is ruined.

Sign 7 – Error: Operating system not found, or /> Missing Operating System
This is bad. Even the Microsoft Knowledge Base technical support is only a few causes of this error message. Basically you can not recognize your PC’s hard disk or the drive is too damaged to read (DOA).

What if your player has any of these symptoms:

Listen to a) First, if possible, backup your files now!

2) Create a boot disk and run Windows Scandisk and set it to automatically fix errors. If it finds more than a few bad sectors then see point above

3) When the download and the possible use of a diagnostic hard drive. All the major hard disk manufacturers have free utilities on their websites. Repair and what you can see first
