Question : What type of upgrades do you recommend for a computer?
system specs;
1 gb ram
amd athlon 64 processor 3800+ 2.4 ghz
nvidia geforce 6100 graphics card
Im just starting to get into computer gaming, but right now my computers kinda lacking in upgrades. I can’t play any games with super good graphics, so i’ve been playing a lot of older strategy games like rome total war and civilization 3. If their’s any cheap upgrades somebody can recomment i’d appreciate it.

First step will be to buy a real graphics card. Find out if your motherboard has an AGP or PCI-Express video slot, and purchase accordingly. You’ll also benefit from upgrading your RAM to 2GB.

Seeing as how the 6100′s were an IGP, then you have an nForce 4## board, buy a PCI-E card.
Also that processor’s getting old, but seeing as how AMD likes reusing names, I can’t tell if its Socket 939 or AM2. Or even if it’s Dual Core or Single Core.
