can my VoIP & router be connected to a another router?
Question : can my VoIP & router be connected to a another router?
hi i have a linksys Sipura SPA-2100 which is a router and VoIP. The problem is that it only has one eternet port and i need atleast 2. so what iwas wondering is if i can connect it to another router at the same time, or get something like more ethernet port extention.
please help

yes but they can not be addressed the same for example your first router will have a SSID like linksys and and ip address group like 192.168.1.1 before you plug the second one in plug it directly into a computer and change it’s ssid to Linksys_B change the ip to 192.168.10.1 now you can plug the second router into any other port on the first router with as long of a cable as you need and you will be up and running
if you don’t do it this way you will have the second trying to issue the same address as the first.

Just get an Ethernet switch. A second router would add to the complexity and add unnecessary latency to the connection.
So you would plug the LAN port of the router into the switch, and plug your computers/whatever into the switch as well.
