In your opinion, which is better cyber school or public?
Question : In your opinion, which is better cyber school or public?
Ive been thinking about doing cyber school since this past school year. What are your thoughts? Ive heard good and bad things.
Dont tell me about the friends stuff. Im getting my permit this month a applying for jobs beggining of next. I didnt rle meet that many ppl at school. I just kinda stick with the friends I already have and meet some other places. So thats not a big deal to me at all.

cyber eat whenever you want and sleep sometimes and need help ask a teacher one on one kinda easier
but your going to miss your friends
public well you know chill wit the friends

I’ve done both – cyber and public.
Social aspects are much better in public school, but that’s not much of an issue.
Cons of cyber school:

Cyber teachers are terrible. You can never reach them or have face-to-face convos about assignments. No, it’s all summed up in an email. If you think this will be an issue – get a tutor. Assignments aren’t very clear because of the communication issues. I’ve done 3 different systems of cyber schooling and communication was terrible with all 3. One-to-one help isn’t an option unless you have special accommodations arranged with the school.Pros of cyber school

You can sleep in, do school in pajamas lounging on a bed listening to music, think in peace without other students, you can run to starbucks at 1 in the afternoon on a tuesday, and the typical stuff you can’t do at school. It’s great if you have emotional stressers involved with school, and if you have trouble sleeping. You don’t have to worry about bitching teachers or getting suspended.
The education aspect of it is great – you don’t have to worry about strict deadlines and you can copy/paste answers from the internet. You have more time to focus on the assignment and if the instructions are clear, your grades will improve drastically. And yes, despite the myth, good colleges accept homeschooled students – if this was a concern of yours. Cyber School teaches you disipline: it’s tempting to forget about schoolwork and go on FB and whatnot. You have to really motivate yourself to keep it up.

I guess it depends on your personality and study habits. I really enjoy Cyber School – aside from the communication. I’ve known others who do Cyber School, and they enjoy it as well. -

I think it just depends on how you learn best. Some people do best with the face to face interaction of a student and teacher. They like the competition or they need the structure of school. Others don’t. They do best studying on their own. There are distractions in schools, like other kids, noise, crowds etc. At home you have distractions too. YA is a biggie around here, LOL, the TV, ipod and cell phone are others. You have to figure out what’s best for you. Why not talk to some people who’ve done cyber school and get their opinions. Hopefully they’ll be honest about the positives and negatives. Everything has both. Good luck.

I go to an online high school. I love it! I’ve learned so much and the thing is my school is open year round and I’m 16 about to get my diploma in 2 months because I worked all threw the summers and spring breaks!
