Can the sony vx1000 vx2000 or vx2100 record in widescreen 16:9?
Question : Can the sony vx1000 vx2000 or vx2100 record in widescreen 16:9?
I want to buy one of these cameras but I really want widescreen. Just say if there is a built in option to record in 16:9 I also heard theres an accesorie to do so. How much would it be.

Yes, the Sony vx1000 does. Can’t find anything on the others though.
I’d assume the latter two are capable of it too assuming they are the next versions of the camera.
the better way to record 16:9 video is to record using an anamorphic lens attached to your camera. This will allow you to use the entire ccd in the camera instead of putting black bars on it for a letterbox. you’re tossing out about 1/3 the information of the video when you do this. if what I’m saying isn’t making any sense, you may want to take a video production class so that you can learn how to use the different formats to your advantage.
