Step down transformer will do the job With sufficient wattage.

If it is just AC that you require, a second-hand arc welder is quite a good option. In my job I often have to test circuit breakers, and do this using an arc welder fed from the mains via a variac to control the voltage to the welder and hence its current output. Anything up to 120A no worries!
If you need DC, you can still use a welder, but you will also need a large diode or bridge rectifier (better), rated for as many amps as you are intending to draw, and depending on the application you may also need some large capacitors to smooth the output.

pretty simple.
buy the cheapest working microwave you can find.
take it apart. remove the transformer
keep the primary (the 120 volt side) and remove the secondary (the high voltage side). re wind the secondary with 4 gauge magnet or other lightly insulated copper wire. connect to an 1 amp 120 volt supply and test output voltage.
if you bought an 1200 watt microwave, this is 10 amps current on the 120 volt side. If you have a 24 volt output, you get up to 50 amps power. if you go for 12 volts output, you get up to 100 amps power.
I have no idea how you’re gonna rectify 100 amps if you need it in DC voltage. Maybe capacitors?
