I have canon i255 inkjet printer. I am doing loads of inkjet printing.?

Is there any way I can reuse a low ink expended cartridge ?
How about filling it with water and reusing? will that damage my printer in any way. I have bought 5 cartridge within 2 weeks .

If there is an Office Depot near you go there. They have a machine in their stores now that can refill ink cartridges. If you want to save a bit of time, call first and make sure it does support your brand of cartridge. If they do…give it a try.

I wish people would research the printer before giving people answers.
The i255 takes the BCI-24 cartridges. Lasted I checked no one is actually refilling them. The cartridges the places are refilling (office max, walgreens) have the print head attached to the tank.
Do not put water in it, you will not like the printouts, and it might damage the printer.
Check your quality settings, if you can lower them, it will print lighter, but save you ink. Buying compatible cartridges does save you cash, but not on the number of cartridges you are using.
If you are printing a high volume, maybe you should look at upgrading to a printer that does more pages per cartridge.

You can’t add water and shake it up. Man i thought i was ghetto.
There are refill kits that you can buy for most printers but it my opionion its just a bigger pain. Office max/depot may be able to refill them for less money that a new one but it depends on the type you have. If your prinnting that much on a regular basis you should lookinto a high end printer (maybe a lazer printer) It will save you money in the long run.This web site has been a great source for tonner, its cheaper than the stores around me

If you print a lot of black and white text, you should think about investing in a laser printer. The cost per page from a laser printer is much lower than that of inkjet printers. Plus, you can get monochrome laser printers for about the same price as a decent inkjet printer, so you’re not actually spending that much more to begin with.
Something you should consider.
As the above answers state, DO NOT fill the cartridge with water. That will damage the printer, which will cost you even more to get it fixed.
