How can I tell which port I am using on a Cisco 3560 switch. There are two rows, which are the even numbered ports and which are the odd numbered ports?

Actually, the two rows are numbered with 1 being the top left most port and 2 being located under 1 being the bottom left most port. Then 3 is on top and 4 on the bottom and so on. So odd numbers will be the top row and even numbers located on the bottom row.
If you can’t tell which port you’re plugged into just note all of the ports that have links and then unplug your pc. The link light will go off and you can guess that thats your port. - Comment Feed for this Post
The 3560 comes in numerous port configurations, lets say you have a 48 port version of the switch. The ODD ports are on top, the EVEN ports are on the bottom. If you just wanted to know your port, and have access to the switch, find your MAC address and go to the switch and enter “show mac-address-table address H.H.H” – this will tell you your specific port.
