Could minute clinics use scheduling software?
Question : Could minute clinics use scheduling software?
My friends and I are developing some scheduling software.
Basically, a customer could go online and schedule an appointment to see the doctor.
Would this work for minute clinics? Why or why not?

It might.
Scheduling software as you see it is a good idea, BUT, it needs to be integrated with the employee schedules, demographic and billing software. The idea being that as the visit is completed, the clinician indicates the services and diagnosis and the software moves it to a billing cue. At the end of the day there should be a report showing all the services rendered and the charges and another report listing all the unbilled, but scheduled visits.
Most practices have practice management suites of software that are fully integrated right into the General Ledger and electronic medical records.
The other concern you need to address is HIPAA regulations. Privacy laws would require this be an ultra- secure site.
