It is meant for gaming. It can be used for anything.
But I don’t even recommend alienware to hardcore gamers. Ever since dell took over, the products have gone into the dirt.
Alienware is used mostly by heavy gamers, but it can also be used for other things. I recommend a mac, but if you don’t like macs, Alienware is just fine. (especially if you plan on installing a lot of software…)
