Can I still use use a gateway netgear router/modem for wireless and not replace my broadband modem?
Question : Can I still use use a gateway netgear router/modem for wireless and not replace my broadband modem?
My broadband modem is also connected to my phone service so I cant replace the modem. The netgear CG814WG v2 acts as a modem as well as a router but does not have a phone port. can I still use the device as just a router?

hahaha…got the same with Time-Warner.
YES you can (that’s what I had to do)
Connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the router. Install the Netgear software in your laptop, follow instructions. That’s it.
You do not need to disconnect anything from the broadband modem.
