Question : How to COMPLETELY delete vlans in cisco router(s)?
I’m working on a cisco 3825 router and deleted a vlan using the “no” command. After saving the config and typing “sh startup” the vlan is gone, but when I put in the “sh interface description” command it still shows the vlan and says that it is deleted. Is there a way that I can get rid of it completely? Some sort of counter to clear or something?

Sometimes with things like that removing the config (any subinterface can have the problem) it can reappear.

The solution is a little disruptive though – delete the config and reload.
