I would say yes. If the cost of coke rose from $ 1.25 to $ 1.50, the software developers and all who work for the company would take a financial hit to pay more for the coke. The way government reports the CPI data they offset the usual price movements of the parts of a computer with quality adjustments to reflect the stability of prices in the finished product (like a laptop). This technique can also be used to hide inflation, though. If the price of a laptop doubles, the “quality adjustment” removes the price rise under the theory you’re getting more for your money rather than less for your money (true inflation).
