Question : What is the most functional Mac OS X all-in-one printer?
I’ve been looking at the Brothers. Looking for a laser printer and something that works well with Mac OS X Leopard. I’d like to be able to send and receive faxes directly on the computer as well as perform the other functions over the network and not have to have to printer directly connected.

Printers are multi platform. I use an Epson CX9400Fax, cheap $ 65 from Epson with a 1 year warranty. Warning: all the new printers are ink hogs. I bought a CISS for the Epson and it works great, bottles of ink to refill the system are cheap and seem to last forever. Question : What’s the best wireless laser all-in-one printer? I’m in a panic mode.?
I’ve read so many reviews from cnet, amazon, pcworld….my eyes are about to cross, and I still can’t decide which printer to get as a Christmas gift for someone special. Some scored 8 out of 10 by cnet but were trashed by user opinions. Christmas is a little over a week away!

The conditions are the following in order of importance:

laser
all-in-one (fax, copier, scanner, printer)
wireless
$ 100-$ 300

Brother MFC-7820N All-In-One is a good choice, my uncle has it and he said it was the best laser printer he has ever bought. He has it connected to a print-server and it is located in a convenient spot, wireless is excellent for this. It ranges around $ 200+ and it is not bad for such a machine that handle tasks really well.

Question : I need an all-in-one scanner, label printer, data collecting?
I already have bar codes on my products. I want to be able to scan the barcode, print a label of the product, and put the data into excel. No wireless communication. I want to use usb. Any suggestions of a portable something out there I can use?

What all-in-one printer/copier/scanner/fax machine has cheap replacement of ink cartridge or toner (if laser)? Including compatible generic ink/toner.

It is not the question of what kind, it would be a question if the replacement is available. www.colortek.com offer a large variety of high quality compatible ink cartridges to many printer models and brands.
but as far as i know it is hard to find colortek products in the U.S. right now. (too bad because they are cheap but very good).
sometimes you will see staples selling compatible cartridges, but they are still quite expensive. try searching locally to a place near you that will refill and fix your used toner cartridge. I am saying this because i know that in Europe you can to a colortek store and they will refill and fully service your toner cartridge with a warranty for on their work.

so if you will find a place that refills in your area. make sure they guaranty their work, and have warranty on the cartridge.

i had a little while ago the canon pixma mp990. it is not expensive and works fast and smooth. never had problems with it. it is a printer\scanner\copier and its good – if you are a student then it should be your choice. but if you want to spend few more $ $ and get something more ‘heavy duty’ try the brother mfc 7840 – its a good quality printer that just does the work on the best side. but money wise its significantly more expensive….

Fix Jammed Paper Feeder on Canon Pixma MP-780 All-in-one Printer Repair Video

thenerdshow.com repairs a Canon Pixma MP-780 All-in-one printer, scanner copier & fax when the top tray mechanism is jammed or stuck and won’t feed paper. I guess this is a common problem that needs fixing with these multifunction printers. Repair tools needed Long Phillips screwdriver and regular screwdriver for prying. After purchasing a screwdriver, uh, enlargement, we removed the screws and took off the side panels. Then we proceeded to disconnect the wiring and remove the scanner, control panel and upper housing, finally gaining better access and visibility to fix the jammed paper feed tray mechanism and stuck rollers. To perform the actual fix, we pry out the paper guide using a screwdriver and roll the rollers manually until they lock into position, putting the paper feed tray back in its original position atop the lifter cam. We don’t usually repair printers because the time versus replacement cost is rather high, but this is something that can be fixed in a home shop without too much trouble.
