Answer by Dest DYou will need to buy a USB hard drive dock for your old laptop hard drive.

Remove the old hard drive, place it in the dock and plug it into your new PC/Laptop and it will be under your My Computer.

I’ve been making regular backups from my Windows XP Pro machine on to DDS2 tape using Veritas Backup Exec 10 and I suddenly had a thought – it’s easy to restore files from tape when the files were written there by this installation of Veritas (when it has the tape catalogues recorded), but say (worst-case scenario) this entire machine were to fail, would it be possible to have a re-installed copy of Veritas read from one of these tapes and determine their contents?
