Question : Can I use glossy photo paper in an inkjet printer?
I’ve just bought a printer and am a total novice, also can I use any type of size and kind ie glossy card etc, or does it have to say inkjet photo paper

Yes you can use glossy photo paper for Inkjet printers, you can use any size that will fit into the printer.
You will need to alter the paper size in the printer dialogue window that comes up when you try to print.

Using other types of paper and card will work as long as it is not too thick or rough to go through the paper pathway but the results will not be as good as using proper Inkjet paper.

Question : My printer ink gets spread when I print on glossy papers?
I have an hp printer and I refill the cartridges at home,
my black ink gets spread when i print on glossy papers like labels.It even prints lighter compared to normal papers.

Your paper is probably not designed for inkjet printers. Glossy paper tends to not be as porous as regular paper so the ink cannot get into the paper and spreads like that. You’d need to get some glossy paper designed for inkjet printers (like HP photo paper).

When I print on anything with a glossy surface, the takes too long or does not dry.
Does anyone know why. Also, most glossy paper stick to each other coming out in 3′s and 4′s

Question : How long do you let Inkjet glossy photo paper dry?
I just printed out a bunch of pictures with HP Premium photo paper –Inkjet Glossy — The paper is very shiny, and I know it is obviously not dry enough to put into frames now. How long should I wait before I cut out the pictures and put them behind glass?

I would wait at least 24 hours, then do the smudge test, lightly run your finger over a test photo and if it still seems tacky let it sit for another 24 hours. After that you should be good to go.

Question : How can I keep ink jet computer ink from smearing on slightly glossy paper?
I printed some business cards yesterday on slightly glossy paper with my ink jet printer, and to my dismay, 24 hours later, the ink still is smearing if I rub it with my finger. Is there any chance that it will eventually dry? Or is this a lost cause? Is there anything I can do to force the ink to dry/prevent it from smearing? Thanks!

You are going to have to set it in the printing preferences that the paper isn’t Automatic, you have to set it yourself.

Who knows how the transfer and inkjet image on the glossy surface of cardboard?

. . . I mean, other than printing on a different paper then does a cut and paste. . . I’m for a transmission medium that is compatible with inkjet-looking prints. Or a special paper with metallic gold / silver finish
