I go from 1000 to 1500 per month on cash purchases and want software to follow them. Nobody has to work in an office DOS 5 There is no simple Windows program that I can find. Home bookkeeping Lite Keep Soft is pretty good, but badgers to update U, so I upgraded, but the harassment will not go away and I do not know how the full program. Suggestions? Reply

I have a compaq preserio 6027 using XP home addition and a Dell insperon 1501 using Vista home premium with wireless internet connection.
I would like to be able to access the internet on my desktop via my laptop.
I have a D-Link broadband ethernet roughter
is this possible?
and how do I configure my systems?

so the laptop is connected to the internet trough its wireless. well you can share the internet connection of the laptop and access the net trough it on the desk top. all you will need is a PC-PC network connection cable popularly known as cross cable because the colours of the cables are crossed over. after you share that of the laptop. you will be prompted that the IP address of the LAN of the laptop is being set to some figure windows will decide. you will then have to set the ip address of the desktop to automatic, and it will acquire an ip address from the laptop, and voila, the laptop will serve as the gateway and server of the desktop and they can both be on the internet.
if you face problems in internet connection sharing, just type “internet connection sharing” into windows help and it will show you the steps i have outlined in more details and help you along with wizards to share your internet connection even for more than one PC, in my school we have connected four computers to the internet trough one laptops wireless connection. we pay for only the laptops connection.

My old modem was a motorolla which apparently has had massive failures in the power supply. New modem is a westel. Should I reinstall the router or is there something else I need to do? Cisco Router Wireless WRT160N V2.

That should work fine, go ahead and install it, if you can’t then use it, you may need to replace it.

I am supposed to be working closely with this lady on IT/document management projects. She is hogging all the work and what little work she does throw my way, she goes over with a fine-tooth comb, highlighting all supposed errors (which can be as minor as me writing script a different way than she does) and showing them to our bosses. I heard a rumor she is trying to get me fired. But she is always syrupy-sweet to me. Today, she sent an email to the whole office regarding our most important project..it said someone relatively new to the templates but doing IT/DM work (obviously me, but never named outright) had made so many mistakes that she was going to have to re-create them..so they can’t work in that project for the rest of the week. Now everyone is mad at me. I looked over my work log and not ONCE did I work in those templates. But it is her word against mine. I am not sure how to handle such a passive-agressive, conniving person. Any suggestions, besides poison darts?

Been there… Done That…. Find a new job, especially if she’s well known and has a good reputation. If not… CYA… Make copies, and notes on everything, I mean EVERYTHING you do… get all proof you can…. when it comes right down to it, prove her wrong.

I’m getting a job soon, and I want to upgrade my computer to make it even faster than it is. It currently has an Intel Core 2 Quad Processor that clocks at 2.4 Gigs per core. I use an NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT Vid card, a 500GB SATA Drive, and 2GB of RAM. Plus, anyone know of good gaming peripherals, keyboards, mice, etc?

The G11, or G15 is a nice keyboard, and the MX Revoltuion is a nice mouse.
Get 4GB RAM,
and a 9 series Geforce, or a 8800Ultra…

Question : Trying to figure out how to clean the laser on a Xerox CopyCentre C20?
My copier at work prints out very faint copies, and the only way to alleviate the problem is manually set the copier to darken.
I’m 99% sure the laser inside is dirty, because both the drum and toner have been replaced and results are the same. I am not sure how to go about cleaning the laser.
Does anyone know 1) how I can get to the laser inside the unit and 2) how to clean it without causing any damage?

Machine is a rabadged Konica Minolta Bizhub 130F by the looks of it. VERY similar anyway
Open right cover and front door
remove toner AND drum, place drum somewhere out of direct light.
Look in right door, there is a small glass slit inside machine, this is the laser lens, clean this.
If you do an internal test print are THEY OK ? If so it could be a problem withthe scanner rather than the print unit. The white plastic above the scan lamp sometimes gets miscoloured after time, and can cause scanner calibration issues, and COULD be giving a misreading causing the scanner to adjust giving poor copies.

Try searching for free photo on Google, just make sure it is not copyright, you should be able to use it in your business cards. So far I like freefoto.com and sxc.hu most!

I downloaded the ventsrv and set it up and everything and i can get the server to run, but i cant connect to the server using th ventrilo client. neither me or people outside my network are unable to connect. i will type in the password i set for it and my current external ip address yet all the client says is “contacting server” what am i doing wrong? You can get any, and every virus through Myspace. Myspace is notorious for infecting peoples computers. I suggest that you go to Walmart, Best Buy, etc. and actually buy an anti-virus/firewall. Windows is very vulnerable. It’s worth the $ 10-$ 30 dollars.
