Question : Can I still use use a gateway netgear router/modem for wireless and not replace my broadband modem? My broadband modem is also connected to my phone service so I cant replace the modem. The netgear CG814WG v2 acts as a modem as well as a router but does not have a phone port. can I still use the device as just a router? broadband modem

Answer by Servettehahaha…got the same with Time-Warner. YES you can (that’s what I had to do) Connect an ethernet cable from the modem to the router. Install the Netgear software in your laptop, follow instructions. That’s it.
